How does Modern Salon Learning work?
Modern Salon Learning is a powerful interactive
learning system. Getting started on using Modern salon Learning is fast
and easy. You can choose to take selection of courses or get access to
the entire course catalog via one of our Enrollment Plans. Go to Go
Modern Salon Learning course catalog to find courses you want to take
and click “Take Course” for a low fee or click “Enroll Now!” for an
instant access to the entire course catalog. Choose from the three
available enrollment plans and follow the instructions to checkout.
When can I take the courses?
All courses are available on line and on demand. You can take the
courses anytime and from any computer as long as you have internet
connection. Courses taken outside any enrollment plan expire three (3)
months from the date of the purchase. During that time you can come
back to the course as many times as you wish to complete, review, or
print course materials. Modern Salon Learning/Vance Publishing reserves
the right to change the course expiration policy anytime without notice
to the users.
How long will I have access to the courses?
You will have access to the course for three (3) months from the
date of enrollment or for duration of the enrollment plan you have
purchased. Upon cancellation of your enrollment plan, you will
automatically lose access to all courses in your account. Modern Salon
Learning/Vance Publishing reserves the right to change the course
expiration policy anytime without a notice to the users. For more

Do I have to complete my course in one session?
No, you do not have to complete your course in one session. You can
start, stop and finish at your convenience. You will have access to the
course for three (3) months from the date of enrollment.
Can I enroll in courses without a license number?
The license number is not a required field on the registration form.
However, if you want us to report your credits to the Board of
Cosmetology in your state for license renewal purposes, you must to
include this information. This will allow us to process the reports to
your state board accurately.
Can I register from a foreign country?
Yes, all international users are welcome to registration in the
online courses. Select your country from the drop-down list of
countries to find your country.
Do I need to purchase any supplies or products to complete the courses?
It is not necessary to purchase products or supplies to take Modern
Salon Learning online courses. Each course also includes a set of
worksheets that you can print to take notes and use for later review of
Do you have text books, CDs or DVDs available?
Modern Salon Learning has no any text books, CDs or DVDs available
at this time. You may find more cosmetology information, tips and
trends at www.modernsalon.com or you can visit our Store to find more educational materials.
Why can't I log in after I registered?
Please note that your e-mail address and password are case
sensitive. If you forgot your password, you can request it by clicking
on “Forgot Your Password?” on the Log In page. Your password will be send to the e-mail address you used at the registration.
Why don't I receive my password after clicking on "I Forgot My Password"?
Your e-mail settings may be filtering the message containing your
password into your junk or spam inboxes. Please check your junk or spam
inboxes to find e-mail from Modern Salon Learning. If you still don’t
receive your password, contact our customer service at
firstname.lastname@example.org or call 847-634-789. Please note that you
need to have active working e-mail address to receive communications
about your account.
Can I change my account information?
Yes, you can change your account information anytime. Log in with
your e-mail and password and click on "Account Details." Here, you will
be able to change and update your information as needed.
Can I take Modern Salon Learning courses if they are not approved for continuing education in my state?
Yes, you can still take any of the available online courses; however
you will not be able to use the hours earned to fulfill your license
renewal requirements if the course is not approved in your state. To
check course approval status in your state, go to COSMETOLOGY CE. The approval status is being updated periodically. Check back often for new updates.
How do I report my continuing education hours with the cosmetology board in my state?
Each state has different requirements. Please check with your
cosmetology state board or board of licensing and regulations in your
state for proper reporting requirements. Find contact information of
your state board here.
Is my credit card information secure?
Yes, your credit card information is secure. Your payment will be an SSL certificate protected and encrypted.
Why I can't print my certificate?
Check your printer settings and make sure your printer is online
What should I do if the video doesn't start?
Refresh your browser and try again: also, a slow internet connection MAY affect video streaming.
Your computer must meet these requirements, or you may not be able
successfully view all courses. You will need Internet Explorer, Firefox
or similar in its latest version. High speed
internet connection is recommended. You may need Adobe Flash player and
Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader – these products are available free from
Adobe.com and come with most new PC’s
I am not able to log in. I receive error message "Login failed."
There are several reasons why your login might have failed. Your account has been deactivated because your recurring payment declined or there is missing information your account. Please contact our customer support to assist you with resolution of this problem.
