Jenna Bush’s Wedding Hairstyle: Is Updo Styling on a Downturn?

Whenever there’s a high-profile bride like Jenna Bush, the first thing we all check out is her hair, and we’re not the only Jenna Bush's Wedding Hairstyle: Updo Styling Trendsones. There’s a lot of Internet buzz, mostly positive, about the hair that the President’s daughter wore at her wedding earlier this month. Rather than the traditional full hair updo styling that brides have worn over the years, this was a half-up, mostly down hair style.

Some of you may have been doing hair since the heyday of updo’s, when they were high-piled affairs either softened by tendrils or left sleek, depending upon the era. Then the updo’s morphed into “backdo’s,” tied behind the head in a french twist or more intricate hair fashion.

Looking at photos from red carpet events within the past year, I see as many celebs wearing their hair completely down as off the neck, and only Beyonce can pull off a top-piled updo.

My guess is that today Jenna’s half-updo is the most popular look that you create in your chair for weddings and particularly for proms, since the girls are younger. When it’s a special occasion, ladies of all ages want something just a little different from the everyday, but maybe not so different that they don’t look like themselves.

What’s your take on it? Is true updo styling dead? Or maybe dormant for a while just waiting to tick up again in the future? I’d love to hear back from you.
